CSC Speaker Series: America’s Pastime & Chicago’s Home Run
Chicago Sports Commission
Wed, July 26, 2017 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Home to two prestigious MLB organizations and a total of six World Series Championships, Chicago has a rich history and competitive spirit when it comes to America’s pastime. Since the early 1900’s the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox have been building their teams, brands and fan bases – through recruitment and growth of unmatched talent on the field and in the front office, innovative marketing strategies and continued investment in their first-class venues and unique neighborhoods. A highlight each season is the matchup between the hometown teams known as the Crosstown Cup – which has evolved into a great baseball tradition eagerly awaited by both “North Siders” and “South Siders” alike and will take place July 24–27.
Join us on July 26 – in the midst of battle for the Crosstown Cup – for a discussion on the business of baseball, highlighting our beloved hometown teams and the impact they have on the city of Chicago.
