Join Chicago’s leading technologists for an all-day hackathon addressing hunger in Cook County.
Follow the hackathon and share your experience on social media: #HackHungerChi
The second annual Hackathon to End Hunger, an event produced by the Greater Chicago Food Depository, is designed for professionals and students passionate about coding, software, mobile apps, web apps, hacking big data or hacking hardware solutions. Join us to hack, build, network, eat and compete for some great prizes for an amazing cause. We will have coaches and mentors who are experts in their field as well as members of the internal GCFD team to assist with advice and development.
Hackers across Chicago will analyze how the Food Depository currently collects, tracks and utilizes participant data and try to come up with the best software and tech-based solutions to allow the Food Depository to make the most informed decisions about how to best serve our neighbors in need.
What You Bring: Your laptop, skills & ideas. Come with a collaborative, team focused mindset and/or team up in advance on Social Media #hackhungerchi hashtag. Whether you are a backend person, designer, entrepreneur, student, or just interested in tech; you are invited to attend this event. Every group needs a good balance of talent, including developers, designers, QA, researchers, and more.
What We Supply: Introduction presentation and code samples that help to bootstrap your hacking, food to keep you energized, and caffeine to keep you awake. We will have technical resources to assist you in this endeavor.
