Winter Tinker Camp: 5 day series

Do you like to tinker? Are you interested in 3D printing? Would you like to learn to use 3D fabrication technology?’
Space Lab is proud to offer WINTER TINKER CAMP for students ages 12-18.
December 11: 6-8 pm
December 12: 6-8 pm
December 13: 6-8 pm
December 14: 6-8 pm
December 15: 6-8 pm
*Tickets are valid for all five sessions.*
Vinyl Cut – Students will learn about the beginnings of digital fabrication, how digital fabrication machines work, how to design for the vinyl cutter using free software, and how to cut a t-shirt design that they can put on a shirt.
3D Printing – Students will learn about additive manufacturing, how to design for 3D printers, how a 3D printer works, and how to use a 3D printer.
CNC Routing – Students will learn about subtractive manufacturing, how to design for a CNC router, how a CNC router works, and how to use the machine.
Laser Cutting – Students will learn about the history of laser cutters, how they work, how to design for them, and will be able to operate the machine.
Soldering – Students will learn how to build a simple circuit, how solder works, then solder together a Makey Makey pin.
Cost for all 5 classes: $200
About the Instructor: Jay Margalus is a game developer, hacker, & designer. He is a faculty member and the Director of the DePaul University creative lab IRL.
