Designing Surveys That Influence Polls
Chicago Science Writers
Wed, November 30, 2016 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Join the Chicago Science Writers for a fascinating discussion on understanding and reporting on public opinion polls.
With the election season in full swing, let’s sit down with Allyson Holbrook of the University of Illinois at Chicago and talk about how reporting on public opinion polls factors in the election process. Holbrook will discuss factors that influence the outcomes of surveys as well as their design. She will tell us what we need to know to evaluate the validity of polling information and provide attendees with examples of how to write about surveys.
Food and drink will be available for purchase.
As a member of an opinion research organization that offers education for journalists, Holbrook will acquaint attendees with resources to improve our reporting skills.
RSVP and join the discussion!
