Please join The Chicago Council on Global Affairs’ 2015 Dr. Scholl Foundation Visiting Fellow on US-China Relations, Dr. Yang Yao of Peking University, for dinner and a conversation on China’s changing economy. Moderated by The Chicago Council’s Senior Fellow on the Global Economy Phil Levy, the discussion will address the establishment of a “new normal” for China’s economy as it achieves lower and more sustainable growth.

Yang Yao is the director of the China Center for Economic Research and dean of The National School of Development at Peking University. He is also a member of the China Finance 40 Forum, an economics and finance think tank of forty influential experts. His research focus includes economic transition and development in China. His writing has appeared in several international media publications including the Financial Times and Project Syndicate. Yao was awarded the 2010 and the 2008 Pu Shan Award in International Economics, the 2009 Sun Yefang Award in Economic Science, and the 2008 Zhang Peigang Award in Development Economics.
Senior Fellow, Global Economy
Phil Levy is senior fellow on the global economy at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and a former economic advisor in George W. Bush’s administration. Previously, he was associate professor of business administration at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.
