Filling the Nonprofit Leadership Pipeline
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Do you see nonprofit leadership in your future but no clear path to get there? Have you felt the strain of a leadership investment gap? Although the nonprofit sector is full of eager, young talent, it struggles to keep these young leaders engaged throughout their careers. The continued success of the nonprofit sector hinges on its future leaders, so it’s imperative to plug the holes in the leadership pipeline.
During this panel and small-group discussion event, we’ll tackle this problem from the ground up. In the first half of the event, panelists will share their success stories (and their challenges!) and give practical tips on career development, regardless of the growth environment at one’s organization.
During the panel discussion, you’ll hear from:
• Hillary Cook, Assistant Director of Youth Programs, Art Institute of Chicago
• Robert Friedman, Portfolio Strategist, Hive Chicago Learning Network at Mozilla Foundation
• Debra Michaels, Manager of Volunteer Engagement and Partnerships, The Cara Program
• Kathryn Terrell, Director of Communications & The Co-op, Chicago Ideas Week
In the second half of the event, it will be your turn to share your ideas of how to advance young talent through the leadership pipeline. We want to know what’s next in your career trajectory and what you need to achieve your goals. We’ll pick your brain about the growth opportunities you see at your organization and what keeps you engaged in the nonprofit sector.
Join us as we amplify the collective voice of the future leaders of the sector on its leadership investment gap. Doors will open at 5:45pm, and the event will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Optional networking will follow the event from 7:30 – 8:00 pm.
