Public libraries often do not receive the credit they deserve for remaining relevant by adapting to cultural, educational and technological trends. Don McKay will discuss how his firm’s public library work addresses emerging trends in library services and the role of narrative in shaping community-centered designs. McKay’s presentation will feature discussion of Nagle-Hartray’s¬†Fountaindale Public Library, winner of the AIA Chicago Distinguished Building Award.
