Welcome to THINK!
One of the greatest challenges we often face when it comes to faith and religion is that there are so many questions most of us have and very seldom are there places to discover if anyone is able to provide adequate meaningful responses. If Christianity is true, then certainly it must be able to address central questions that most of us have around God, life, meaning, and purpose.
THINK! South Loop was developed to create a space for discovery together. If you have doubts about the claims of Christianity, or if you have rejected Christianity for a lack of meaningful response from the church in the past, we hope you might consider joining this conversation. No question is off limits and every conversation is held with mutual respect for people from all different faith backgrounds. At the very least, we believe we will all discover compelling responses to our hardest questions that will make us think!
The next round of THINK! South Loop Conversations will be held on January 29th, 30th, and 31st. We completed surveys to determine the biggest questions you had, and the following conversations will be the conversations held in January.
- If Christianity is the only true religion, how come so many other religions seem successful at making people good, ethical, and moral?
- Why is religion so full of hypocrisy?
- If there is a good God, why is there so much evil and suffering in the world?
Structure of the Night
Each conversation has three parts to the night. In the first section a speaker will address the topic directly through lecture. In the second section we will open the floor to live Q&A between the audience and the speakers. Then, in the third and final section of the night we will open the room to informal conversations over coffee and dessert to discuss and learn together from everyone in the room.
