About the Speakers

Patrick Boueri Photo

Uptake

Patrick Boueri has been programming for 8 years with all sorts of languages. Currently a Data Scientist at Uptake, an analytics and software company for big industry, Patrick wears many hats in his day to day, always involving code. Prior to his current gig, Patrick graduated from Northwestern with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and from Columbia with a Master’s in Engineering.

Maggie Hays has worked in large-scale data analytics for over six years, exploring the inner-workings of how people spend and save money. After one year at Braintree, she’s taking every opportunity to bolster operations with in-depth analytics. She holds degrees in Economics and Spanish, and is currently clawing her way toward an MS in Statistics.

Ash Odish Photo

Ash Odish is a data analyst and strategist specializing in fundraising and development. Ash received their B.A. in Literature and Gender Studies, where their interest in analytics was sparked through literary analyses and sociological data points. From there, they began working in consulting and professional services for the affordable housing industry and turned their personal interest in technology and ability to sift through data to tell stories into a career in analytics. Over the past 5 years, Ash has transformed business metrics, marketing, and operational strategies in both for-profit and nonprofit settings through data-focused work. Beginning July 2018, Ash will serve as a Co-Chair of the Chicago Cultural Co-op. In their spare time, Ash curates and does photography for their cat’s Instagram account and volunteers with Center on Halsted, the Midwest’s largest LGBTQ center.

Ash has always had an affinity for teaching others and building connections through education. In a world where data is part of nearly every industry, they believe learning the fundamentals of data analytics is a key skill that just about everyone should possess, whether it’s to do analyses or to just keep pace in conversations inside and outside of work.

Theodore is working on the Data Science team at Uptake Technologies. He utilizes machine learning and predictive analytics to help clients optimize their usage of industrial machinery. Prior to Uptake, Theodore worked within PepsiCo’s Data and Analytics organization. While contributing to enterprise wide projects at PepsiCo, Theodore also returned to school part time. He graduated from the Masters of Science in Analytics at the University of Chicago in December 2016. He has a strong interest in data analysis and predictive analytics.

Sales Engineer,
Looker

Mary is a solutions engineer, helping customers derive better insights and bring data-driven decisions to their business by using the Looker Platform for Data. Prior to Looker, Mary was a healthcare consultant at FTI Consulting, helping hospital systems build BI solutions and advanced analytical applications to better track patient outcomes. Before that, she was an equities analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co, providing research and analysis on publicly trended healthcare companies.
