Parenting Trends and Dynamics In and Out of Court from the Child Representative, Guardian ad Litem and Mediator Perspective

Allen & Glassman

Saturday, April 21, from 9 to 11 a.m

Speakers are family law attorneys Howard P. Rosenberg and Efrain Vega, and professional mediators Hon. Michele F. Lowrance (ret.) and Hon. Nancy J. Katz (ret.). Gemma Allen, principal partner and Todd Glassman, partner, at Allen & Glassman will moderate the discussion.

Among topics to be covered are pending Illinois legislation on Shared Parenting (HB 4113); the role that child representatives and guardians ad litem play in the mediation of parenting disputes; perceptions of the child representative and guardians ad litem role and how and when to utilize each; and current trends across the country.

Now in its 20th year, the law firm’s Better Beginnings, Fewer Endings Think Tank ™ brings together judges, mental health practitioners, clergy, attorneys and other interdisciplinary professionals who are interested in recognizing and addressing serious family law related matters. Topics have included “intimate terrorism” in relationships, the law and psychology relevant to custody litigation and its effect on children, the strategy and costs of litigation, as well as the need for more resources for divorcing couples both inside and outside the courtroom.

There is no cost to attend; however, reservations are required and seating is limited. For information, call Allen & Glassman at (312) 853-3000, or email josephluckett@allenglassman.com.
