Come hear what the City of Chicago Mayoral Candidates have to say about the issues that directly affect YOU!
There are a myriad of issues that confront the City of Chicago from the failure to include the Black community in the economic infrastructure of Chicago. With economic inclusion, there would not be wealth gaps, health disparities, education inequality and the rampant crime that is borne of frustration and met with under-trained, frustrated, police officers.
This forum will focus primarily on issues identified as critically important to the younger generation of African-Americans in the city of Chicago:
1. Growth of African-American-owned businesses
2. Access to jobs in the African-American community
3. Quality education and training
4. Economic opportunities
5. Safety and Gun Violence
Confirmed Candidates (in alpha order): Gery Chico, Amara Eniya, Lori Lightfoot, Toni Preckwinkle and Paul Vallas
Moderators: Tarrah Cooper and Felicia Rauls
The mission of the Business Leadership Council (“BLC”) is to develop and commit Black leaders to economic development, scaling Black businesses, growing wealth in our communities and placing Blacks in positions of power. We are dedicated to rooting out public and private sector barriers and biases that prevent Blacks from accessing, qualifying, securing and retaining meaningful business opportunities.
