Home Chef, the Chicago-based meal kit company, recently merged with Kroger in an initial transaction worth $200 million and future earnout payments of up to $500 million. Foxtrot, a Chicago chain of upscale convenience stores, just closed a $6 million funding round.

Brian Irwin is Vice President of Brand Marketing at Home Chef. He leads Home Chef’s marketing and communications strategy. Overseeing an in-house team of designers, copywriters, social media and public relations experts, he also leads content creation. Brian joined Home Chef after 10 years in various innovation, marketing and menu development roles at McDonald’s. He has a BA from Brandeis and an MBA from Kellogg.
Mike LaVitola is CEO and co-founder of Foxtrot. Foxtrot is the next generation corner store – curating Chicago’s best craft beer, wine, spirits, fresh eats, gifts and everyday essentials – and delivering it all to your door in 60 minutes via its neighborhood shops. With a mobile app and web store paired with beautifully designed retail shops, Foxtrot is both digitally native and rooted in an engaging retail experience. Mike began his career in finance. He created Foxtrot while attending Booth at the Unveristy of Chicago.
