Navigating the Intellectual Property Landscape
For medical device, life science, and health IT companies, a well-defined IP strategy is vital to achieving business success. But the road to adequately protecting your idea or product is a source of confusion and frustration for many entrepreneurs.
For the second event in the Healthcare Law Series, MATTER’s legal partners, Polsinelli, DLA Piper, and Foley & Lardner will lead a panel discussion on key considerations to defining and protecting your IP, and lessons learned from common mistakes made by innovators. In this workshop, you will learn:
- Intellectual property protection processes for health IT, med device, and life science startups
- How legal firms and IP departments conduct due diligence, and the evaluation criteria that are typically used.
- The pitfalls and challenges that most companies face and how to overcome these barriers
9:00am: Panel discussion on what industry leaders look for in terms of IP when partnering with startups
10:00am: One-on-one breakout sessions with attorneys specialized in medical device, life science, and health IT law. These breakout sessions are open to MATTER members and partners only – please e-mail Liz Kennedy (email@example.com) for more information and to set up a 30min time-slot.
