Hacking our Defenses: The Future of Cybersecurity

Chicago Ideas Week

Learn how hackers and other measures can be used to improve your personal security.

Thursday, Oct 19, 2017 12:00 – 1:30 PM @ Venue SIX10

In the past two decades, our idea of what hacking means has evolved. No longer are hackers people with nefarious goals holed up in hidden locations–they’ve become fundamental to our daily lives even if we don’t see them at work. In this Talk, we’ll examine the vulnerabilities of companies and governments, and how hacking and other measures can be used to improve online security measures. Not only that, we’ll learn how these initiatives are improving our personal security whether we know it or not. And stay on high alert: speakers may be testing your defenses during the program.

*This program was curated in partnership with THOTCON, an annual hacking and security conference. THOTCON is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the conference is 100% funded by ticket sales and donors.
