Learn the basics of watchdog journalism so you can learn how to hold local leaders accountable as a citizen watchdog.

About this Event

Become a citizen watchdog.

Illinois has nearly 7,000 units of local government – more than any other state. But information about government bodies’ spending practices can be unnecessarily confusing and difficult to track down.

Being a government watchdog has never been more important.

Join the Lincoln Lobby for a special moderated discussion with award-winning investigative journalist Jake Griffin, assistant managing editor for the Daily Herald. Jake will share the basics of watchdog journalism so you can learn how to hold local leaders accountable as a citizen watchdog.

Government Watchdog Boot Camp will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27 at Emmett’s Brewing Co., 110 N Brockway St in Palatine, Ill. Appetizers and drinks included.
