Former White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett

Thu, April 12, 2018 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM

Join the IOP as we welcome Valerie Jarrett, former senior advisor to President Barack Obama, for a conversation on her career in politics. As the longest-serving senior advisor in the Obama Administration, Ms. Jarrett ran the Offices of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs and chaired the White House Council on Women and Girls.

Before working in the White House, Ms. Jarrett served as Chairman of the Chicago Transit Board, Commissioner of Planning and Development, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. She is currently a distinguished senior fellow at the University of Chicago Law School – her return to campus since her tenure as Chairman of the University’s Medical Center Board of Trustees.

This conversation will be moderated by IOP Director David Axelrod.
