This program will provide a detailed dive into the financing strategies available for entrepreneurs. Lisa Conmy will discuss simple agreements for future equity, convertible notes, series seed, preferred stock rounds, and venture debt.
She will take questions from attendees before focusing the workshop on:
- The differences between investment vehicles, and when to use each
- A discussion of market terms and basic concepts so that attendees can have productive meetings with potential investors
- Corporate clean-up: what should a company do before a term sheet is signed to protect founders and enable the deal to close quickly?
- How to close the deal/what to expect?
Lisa Conmy is a partner and finance lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Her practice focuses on the representation of investors in institutional private placements and also involves general corporate law, venture capital financings, energy and project finance, and securities matters.
