Think thanks are often cited in conjunction with classified documents, political watch-dog groups, and international espionage. But what they truly are is an essential part of conducting research, making recommendations to influential leaders, and keeping the public informed about important issues. Underneath this crucial work are individuals and experts that collaborate innovative ideas, decipher data research, and host public programs. What does working in a ‘think tank’ really look like? What are the key mechanisms and who are the significant contributors? On January 30, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and the University of Pennsylvania will answer all of the questions you have – and the ones you didn’t know you had – on why think tanks matter, and how you can contribute.
